This year the sustainably themed lecture/film series organized by Sustainable Stockton and co-sponsored by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association will schedule events January through March.

Thursday, January 12, 2012, 7:00 p.m. - The film "The 11th Hour." will be shown.

The 11th Hour is a documentary film created, produced and narratd by Leonardo DiCaprio describing he status of global eco-systems, including climate change.  With contributions from over 50 politicians, scientitst, thought leaders and environmental activitsts, the film documents the grave problems facing the planet's life systems.

It also proposes potential solutions to these problems by calling for restorative action through the reshaping and rethinking of global human activity in technology, social responsibiity and conservatiion.

The film emphasizes that everyone must be involved to reverse the environmental destruction before the window of opportunity is too small to accomplish the scale of change needed.

Thursday, February 9, 2012, 7:00 p.m. - The film, Farm Truck, will be shown.

This film is about two fun guys who create an urban, mini-farm planted in the bed of their 1986 Dodge truck and use it to demonstrate and teach other city dwellers how much can be grown in a small, intensely cultivated space.  Graphic animation makes the film engaging and easty to understand.
