·         Sustainable Stockton Meeting.  Sustainable Stockton will NOT hold a meeting this month.  However, we are sponsoring a CSA tour scheduled for July 21st (see below).  Our next regular Sustainable Stockton Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 7 pm in the Stockton Municipal Building.  (June meeting minutes and the August agenda will be forthcoming in the August monthly e-mail message.)

·         Whitefeather Organics Tour.   

Sustainable Stockton invites you to tour Stockton’s only Community-Supported Agriculture Farm (CSA) - Whitefeather Organics, LLC.   Join us on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at 7:00 pm, at 2239 Sky View Road, Custer, WI to find out what a CSA is all about and how Tony, Laura, and their crew grow organic vegetables here in Central Wisconsin.  The tour will last about an hour with refreshments to follow.  The tour is free, and all are welcome to attend.  (Directions:  Go east on Hwy 161 from the Hwy 161/Hwy 10 jct.  Then turn left at the first road, and go north 1 mile.)  Questions?—Call 592-4423. 

·         Local Garden Tours. UW Extension and Central Rivers Farmshed are sponsoring a series of informative walks through some of Portage County’s private vegetable gardens on Tuesdays from 7 pm to 8 pm.  Future Garden Walk hosts and locations include:  July 14 - Holly Petrillo and John Sheffy, 1241 Maria Dr, Stevens Point; July 28 - Carol Welling, 247 Edgewood Rd, Custer, and Sue Anderson, 235 Edgewood Rd, Custer; August 11 - Melissa Rice, 736 Union St, Stevens Point; August 25 - Deb Aeby, 1941 Ridgewood Ct, Plover; and Sept. 15 - Jen Zach, 1375 Bob White Ln, Stevens Point.  For more information,  contact the Portage County UW-Extension Office at 346-1316.
